Saturday at Mills Mansion

Since there may be some time off the bike due to another helping of snow, this Saturday was a XC ski, snowshoe and sledding trip (minus the sled Sad

) to the Mills Mansion park.

In attendance were JamesFrames, RangerDanger, myself and Jocelyn (fiance)

Every thing was quieted in a fresh blanket of snow.

The mansion needs some repair but still make a decent photo op area.

We came across many abandoned structures including one with the only door located on the second floor. Confused

The natives we're very unfraid of us.

Do these make my feet look bigger?

It was a good day to be outside eventhough the bikes stayed dry at home.
We walked,shoed, and skiied for a little over two hours.

Ok, I don't really hate winter, but I miss my two wheels.

Its in Staatsburg just off route 9 between Hyde Park and Rhinebeck.

I just realized I've been calling it Miles mansion when its actually Mills. Embarassed

There is a great sledding area next to the mansion and it was pretty crowded by the time we left.

Ride/ trek reports with pics! Cool

Mills and Norrie State Park are connected now by trail, and soon to be connected to the Vanderbilt Mansion, and then very close to the brewery trails...with links to rail trails also planned.
