Is this road up to Hunter Mt. open now?

I have not been up that way in a while, I remember hearing about it being shut down.

thanks

Another yesterday, from Pojo:
Sunday, August 19, 2007
Injured hiker rescued in Beacon

BEACON - An injured hiker was rescued Saturday by firefighters making their way along railroad tracks and through forests.

City of Beacon Fire Chief Timothy Joseph said the Dutchess Junction man, believed to be in his 40s, had fallen down a 25- to 30-foot embankment while hiking and broken his ankle.

Shortly after 11 a.m., the fire department was notified about the accident near Slocum Road, south of the city's transfer station on Dennings Avenue.

Dutchess 911 dispatchers tracked the approximate location through the man's cell phone.

Because the area was inaccessible by rescue equipment, teams of firefighters were sent through the woods from Slocum Road and along the railroad tracks from the transfer station.

The injured man was found down an embankment, south of Fishkill Creek.

Though he was in pain, he did not appear to have any other injuries, fire officials said.

The man was carried by firefighters 1 mile north along the tracks to a Beacon Volunteer Ambulance that took him to St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.

The rescue took 21 2/3 4 hours. Metro-North train traffic was halted for about 45 minutes while the man was being carried along the tracks.
