There is a meeting at NYS DEC New Paltz office on 10/17 at 7 PM for the Draft Unit Management Plan (UMP) for DEC properties west of the Hudson including Stewart and the new Black Creek State Forest in Esopus.

This is your chance to have the plan explained and ask questions, and voice your opinions.

There is a lot of good planned for Stewart and Black Creek. However, it appears mountain biking will be banned from Black Creek SF due to the presence of an endangered amphibian. All other trail users will be allowed. Please come to the meeting and express your concerns.

You can download the plan here: https://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/114629.html
