The ride sounds pretty good and Tim keeps chanting about it so I really need to get there. I'm going to drive down and meet the group at the parking lot, and can take 2 or 3 others with bikes. I'm south of Kingston but can swing in an pick up others on the Pough side.
let me know if anyone needs a ride.

If any Fats members have not been to Blue yet, I suggest you do. Do it this weekend, it is worth the trip. Technical, ridable, fun and lots of it. |

Ive been down to Blue a few times, it is fun on SS. Not as much climbing as we have up here.
alot of technical rock garden stuff and tons of slickrock.
most of the locals i met were on FS bikes.
It is definitely a sweet place.

Doug, I think Blue is less technical than Jockey Hill, and climbs like 909. There is a mix of Northeast slickrock. Overall, good clean fun. You should come, you'll enjoy. Hope to see you at breakfast. _________________ I wanna ride!!!

Stopski Says: Count me in, Y'all! I wouldn't want to miss out on the "Best Ride Ever!" Especially if preceded by what I hope might be the "best breakfast Ever!" OK,OK, I realize that Don's kitchen might not be the same one used to make Sweet Sue's pancakes, nor Eggs Benedict at the Sagamore, but uhh, butt ahh- no butter for me!
Greg- got room for a rider? Talk to me! |

I can give you a lift from breakfast, or you can park your car all day and we can drive over together.

FYI: Decent pizza outside the park, on the right in the plaza just thru the first interesection. Half a dozen spaces in the back lot of the gas station. Its the most convenient place to stop, or there's a restaurant across the street I know nothing of. |

It was a great ride, great weather, great people, and of course a great breakfast (thanks Don!)
I uploaded the decent pictures to my gallery. Most of them didn't come out the way I wanted them to, so I am chaulking it up to the oxygen deprivation from the high altitude.
Enjoy!

It was my first time at Blue and I had a great time. As far as trails up in the Kingston area, both Jockey Hill and Onteora Lake are quite technical as well. Just a different type of technical. Blue, it was more of do you have the nerve to go down a steep drop off. Up here, not so much with drops offs and such, but MANY, MANY rock gardens. Also, some trails are twisty and tight. But, I'll be heading down to Blue again in the near future. I think its a great trail circuit. _________________ greg
