I hope to take my first look at 909 Hereford/Taconic this Saturday. I'll be on the east side of the Hudson for most of the day.
Does anybody know what the conditions are like? Snow? Swampy mud? Hard pack frozen rocks?
Thank you in advance.

Can't speak specifically, but the surrounding area (hyde park) really does not have much snow cover. Might be worth a shot...
Best to ride early while stuff is firm-definitely abort if things get too soft as the temps rise. There are great dirt roads around Millbrook that will be good as alternates to the trails if they are a mess. Easily 30 miles that you can connect to from 909. _________________ If I can bicycle, I bicycle.

According to fb, 909 appears to have snow and is likely not rideable. Jockey and Ferncliff are better options. _________________ If I can bicycle, I bicycle.

909 isn't ready for riding yet, as Jamie said.
Also, there's alot of trees down that have yet to be cleared from the trails.
I'd give it a week. _________________ Pedal, b*tches!! |

Hey Tim, Follks. Three of us from Westchester are looking to ride 909 this Sunday. We'll pack handsaws to help with some of the blowdowns we encounter. The million dollar question is, do you think it'll be rideable?
i can check back on Saturday if unsure. |

Hello Evan. Yes, it's ride-able. The roads are the worst for mud, there's usually a singletrack route to bypass. _________________ Pedal, b*tches!! |
