Yesterday (7/31/16) was the Stewart SOS race, part of the NYS MTB Series. It was terrible weather for the Cat 1/Pro race but despite that the course marshals stayed out there and cheered us on and were generally very helpful. I just want to say thanks to the race organizers for the good work that they did and to thank the SOS for making Stewart a place that can be ridden in the rain without needing to replace your bottom bracket! In years past, I would have stayed home, not wanting to ride through 12" deep mud wallows. Now Stewart handles the water much better. Thanks! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I'll second that , an excellent event even with the rain.
I did the Cat 2 race so much nicer conditions but it was well run .
Interesting course layout with some new ( for me ) trails .
Seeing the big bear right near Ridge road overpass was awesome .

Here's a strava track of my race...good luck! a few of the turns are newer ride arounds that may be less obvious than the original trails they diverge from. Good luck!

GG are you not the Champion of your race category? I was impressed by the caliber of the women riders as they zoomed past my marshal station. Next time I will bring a cow bell or stadium horn to "cheer" you on.
Of course all the racers were amazing in their own way. While others stayed home you all were out there in the rain pushing your limits. Great efforts and thank you all for your competitive spirit and love of mtn biking.
