Planning on checking out a few of the endurance races-this is the series that the Bearscat 50 is a part of.
Many "localish" races in the PA area

Bearscat 50 Recap:
Wayway=hard
Wayway with rain the night prior=more hard
Wayway with rain the night prior and rain during the race=max hard
Legs felt good, nutrition was not good (not enough food intake), came home with a few bruises. Happy to finish this one. _________________ If I can bicycle, I bicycle.

DNF's are not listed, but I imagine are plentiful. _________________ If I can bicycle, I bicycle.

Nice work Jamie & Chrissy. Good to see you there. I have some unfinished business @ the Bearscat 50M. At ~ mile 14 I somehow put a serious slice into my side wall and then I proceeded to strip the 5mm through axle bolt for my rear wheel. Unable to install a tube, which may or may not have worked so well with that hole, I walked ~ 4 miles to before hitching a ride back to the start.
Having said that, the wet rocks were working me over. I fell twice while I had two inflated wheels!

That was certainly another race of survival! I'm glad I finished as I considered pulling the plug about 20 times...the weather could have been so much worse and since the rain held off for the most part, I hung in there. Proud to be listed as a finisher!! |
