The time has finally come to purchase a Subie. I'll be using the IMBA Subaru discount so I'm hoping to find a dealer that will give me a good deal for my trade-in. What Subaru dealers have you had luck with around here? Any to avoid?

We bought our Forrester from Wappingers on rte 9. They we're
awesome....I highly recommend them. Ask for Dianne, and tell her Thomas Smith sent you....they really were wonderful. Even getting an oil
change there is pleasant. Good luck. Very Happy Very Happy

Stay away from Kingston Subaru, I've heard a couple of good things things about them but lots of bad and I have had a few negative experiances with them myself. I now (for the past 2 years) only go too Ruges in Rinebeck. They seem to be pretty good with service issues, though I've never bought a car from them (got mine from kingston Mad )

I didn't buy my scoobie at Ruge's, but have been going there for the past 3 year for all my servicing and haven't had any issues.

My family stopped using Ruge's, after many years of service.
They also got a better deal @ Colonial (Kingston) on an '07.

I have bought two Subarus from Ruges. The prices were fair, yet probably no screamin' deal. During my most recent purchase, the sales guy I had made me uncomfortable, so I brought my dad the second time. I have had some service done at Ruges, which was pleasant, but it's S L O W if you are waiting around.

My family has bought two Subarus from Colonial. Good car pricing and good service. Repairs are done in a timely matter, and they communicate well. I had a lot of work done on my previous Subaru here, but found a good independent for my current one.

Going for the 2.5L turbo engine or the regular 2.5? Standard, Automatic? What model? The biggest bummer is that I hear you can't get the 5-speed in the Legacy GT wagon anymore...

I know lots more about the brand, but I have to go to work. Any questions, just ask...I don't have much else to do since I can't bike Wink

If you don't need warranty repairs, you should try Especially Swedish for your servicing needs. That's where I go, and I have no complaints. Not to mention, it's closer to you.

Tim, check out Minnewaska Motors, at the corner of 209 and 44/55. They are self proclaimed "Subaru Specialists". Their cars are usually a little higher mileage. However, their service is excellent, sales people are excellent, and they really check out the cars and replace anything necessary before they sell them.

Thanks, guys. I'll probably buy at the end of the month, just have to find the best deal for my trade-in. Isn't there a Subie dealer in Middletown? Anyone used them?
