Fats Trip 2015: VT MTB Fest

Hey folks,

Planning has begun for a summer club trip. Feel free to add your input and/or interest.

Here is a starting point:

Where: VT MTB Fest Ascutney VT (4-4.5 hrs away)

When: Friday-Sunday trip.
July 31st-Aug 2nd (Our campsite is or three nights Thurs, Frid, and Sat)

Why: The trails here are amazing. Plentiful, technical, and there is a festival!

How: Camping. So far I have booked one lean-to site at Mt. Ascutney State Park. There are hot showers and running water. Park is 4 miles from fest.

Who: Any and All Fats!

I was all in until I saw the 7/31 date- the same as the VTMTB fest @ Ascutney. My vote is 8/28 as well.
I also highly recommend the VT fest, not to be confused with the Kingdom. There's usually been about 10 Hudson Valley peeps there... I think all the rooms at the Mt lodge are booked, but there is a good State Campground nearby & with trails.
And, Tussey Ridge in Rothrock should be on everyone's bucket list:

Sounds great, but can't make the Aug date and have plans to attend the VTMB fest July 31...but if anything changes....

Stump-this trip is a bit different in years past. We are attending the VT Fest so much of the riding will already be planned-I imagine folks at the camp will do some things on their own or discuss what ride we can all do as a group.

Where is the camping area?

Also, is anyone bringing an extra bike/small or medium? My bike is still in the shop. waiting for a rear shock. Right now I have no mountain bike!
