Here's a letter I fired off...pick from it if you'd like: "I object to proposed plans to open portions of the Pisgah-Nantahala National Forest to large-scale industrial Logging. I travel to the region from the Northeast to take advantage of the many acres of wilderness and the extensive trail network that this area holds, and which is unparalleled east of the Mississippi River.

The plan to log seems fiscally irresponsible as the Forest Service can barely maintain the infrastructure that exists in the forest currently, how will it manage the construction and maintenance of the new infrastructure that will accompany a large scale logging operation. The logging will not provide the revenue needed to offset the losses of revenue that the region will experience when tourism is reduced due to the horrendous impact of logging on the wilderness area.

Please consider the needs of the many citizens who enjoy the unspoiled wilderness of the Pisgah-Nantahala National Forest and do not cave to pressures from the for-profit logging industry. "
