Saw a guy on an ebike today. I don't like it. Seems to me it is a motorized vehicle. This one weighed 78 lbs! Anyone else think they don't belong?

I hope he doesn't kill my Strava times! I would hate to go from 84th to 85th fastest! Seriously I don't like it either. It's a lazy persons way to "bike" in places they have no business being. Rail trail, fine. neighborhood, fine if you want to be lazy go for it. But not on the mountain bike trails.

If you have a physical disability but still want to get out for some fresh air, this sounds great.

If you are tooling around on a electric bike just because you are lazy & weak, that sounds pretty Lame.

You cannot have an electric motor or any motor unless you have a disability and a permit.

Should we report this guy to the rangers, so they know "it's not one of us"? We don't want trouble because of some lazy chucklehead.

If you meet those requirements, are there limits to what trails you can use?

The Motorized Access Program for People with Disabilities allows access in the form of a TRP (temporary revocable permit) so that people who cannot hike or bike can still enjoy solitude on hiking and biking only trails. There is a sign at the kiosk at 909 that states that this MUA allows these permits and people with disabilities to use permitted motorized vehicles on trails.

That permit would not allow a motorized vehicle on all trails, & no Singletrack... There is a sign marking the end of a route for handicapped access. It's at the junction of the Snowmobile and bottom of Whatchamacallit I think.

Worth noting that most states classify a bicycle as a vehicle. So, a bicycle with a motor is a motor vehicle.
I sympathize with our land managers who will have time wasted on this shyte.
