Downhill Race #1 Sunday May 13, 2007

For a decade, Plattekill's world class caliber downhill courses have gained a reputation for being among the most challenging and technical in North America. Newly designed race courses take full advantage of the "new" mountain’s assets, namely the new Northface Lift. Loose descents and tricky off-camber sections will challenge even the best bike handlers. Plattekill earned its trademark by offering racers a newly designed course at every event.

REGISTRATION: (onsite day of event)

LICENSES:
Pro and Expert racers are required to purchase an annual N.O.R.B.A. license.

Sport and Beginner racers are required to purchase a 1-day license at a cost of $5/day at registration. Sport and Beginner riders wishing to participate in any NORBA series or "Plattekill Point Series" must also purchase an annual license.

PRIZES:
Cash prizes to pro categories and to all first place expert classes with at least 10 competitors in a class. Great sponsor product prizes given to second and third place expert categories. 3-deep to Sport and Beginner classes with 10 or more racers. Prize and cash payout based on the number of entries in a class and in the total race event. Less then 10 in a class, medals only to top 3.

PLATTEKILL "POINT SERIES":
Racers who compete in at least 4 Plattekill race events in the same discipline will be entered into the "Plattekill Point Series".

6 or more racers in a category qualifies as an official "class", less then 6 racers, classes will be combined.

Please note that the DS race on Saturday, May 12 has been cancelled.

I'll be there, expert race #2 for me!

Here's a description of the expert/pro course from a friend of mine who rode it this weekend:

"The course is awsome, it's on the double side, five or six small 3-5' drops, nasty chute, lots of smooth bermed single track and super high speed ski trail to finish, with turns for Ford."
