This past fall the bridge going over the "pit" was getting pretty run down, almost dangerous. Whats the consensus? Should we just rip it out of there and go around it on the more technical route (original route) or do we build a new one. If we do want a bridge there, is that one fixable or are the logs holding the bridge getting weak? Do we build a new bridge out of 2 x 4s? _________________ greg

It's a tough call because that is private land. The old bridge was built under the radar. Structures like that can open up a can of worms that we dont want to deal with. _________________ Dont ever look at my name in vain- ODB |

I vote for trashing it and just using the old route. |

I agree with Kevin...the alternate route around the bridge is definitely ridable, so I don't think we are losing too much if we decide to rip it out. (with it being private land, that is probably the smart thing to do) Although, the bridge is pretty fun, any other places that need a bridge built? |

It's time for the bridge to go. The circuit around the pit is rideable, and the bridge is unsafe. Let's tear it down before someone gets hurt. _________________ C'mon!! |

I vote with the bag. I always liked the other line anyway. _________________ You aint ringing a bell |

I think the ol' T-bag is probably right. That bridge can really hurt someone in the shape it is is. Time for the Ol' Yeller treatment. _________________ I wanna ride!!!

I actually rode over the rock once last year. What, you guys don't like to add any extra danger to a narrow, decaying bridge with a 5' drop on either side? Wimps! I agree, let's get it out of there before someone get's hurt and has to sue someone over it. We can build a ramp instead! Yeahhh, we'll jump the whole thing, yeahhh that's it! _________________ Never under estimate the single speed. |

If I build that jump, will you do that no handed 360 you've been telling me you've been practicing on over the winter? _________________ greg

I had that 360 no hander perfected last september. It's the landing that seems to give me trouble. _________________ Never under estimate the single speed. |

The rock has been missing from the bridge since it fell through the hole in late January. There was a day in early February when someone actually did ride the lightly snow covered bridge, with its two big gaps, leaving just the tire tracks. Frenchie and I couldn't believe it. Someone named Billy is da man!
I do agree that the bridge needs to come out. A better home for it may be a few yards back up the trail to corduroy the wet muddy area before where it sits now. |
