It's that time of year again! This event is a Fats in the Cats favorite.

COME OUT AND ENJOY A HOLIDAY BIKE RIDE WITH YOUR BIKE CLUB!!

Date: Saturday, December 10th (Rain Date: Saturday, December 17th)

Time: 5:00 P.M. meet, convoy rolls at 5:30 SHARP End at: ??

Place: MAC Fitness parking lot in the Kingston Plaza.

Costume and Decorations: Santa suits are encouraged, decorated bikes with lots of lights are highly encouraged. Elfs, Reindeer, and Mrs. Clauses are other alternatives to check as well. LED powered AA lights can be found at CVS/Target/Walgreens, ect. Cheap Santa costumes can be found on the internet for a reasonable price that will make any grinch smile.

Ride Details: This ride is slow paced, with lots of "ho ho ho's" and holiday cheer spread. NO gut busting hills...at least at a fast pace

Route: Coming soon! People put lights up after Thanksgiving.

Social stops for refreshments will be made along the way, as well as a stop at the shelter to drop off gifts for kids. Maybe a stop for some warm food at your favorite brewery.

A Note on Weather and how to dress: This will be moved to the "rain date" if canceled. Rain meaning rain, or wintry weather that makes travel to this event hazardous. All updates will be posted on the Fats' website, forums, facebook & twitter. Be prepared if it's chilly outside! Layer smartly. Bring hand/toe warmers, a Saint Bernard with a neck cask, anything really....

MISC

-Exchange phone numbers with someone, so if you get separated, you have a good chance of meeting back up with us. Please. No one likes a belligerent Santa.

-Bring spending money because Santa gets thirsty

-Bring a lock so your sleigh doesn't leave without you

-Bring a repair kit in case any of your light strands don't behave. Usually, electrical tape and a few zip ties are more than enough.

-Dress warm or at least according to the weather. Those hand warmer packets can be a huge help if the weather outside is frightful.

See 'ya bums there!

Kevin

How many years have we been doing this?
My reindeer was insprired by a visiting Brit engineer living in the area...
His had moving hind legs that moved in unison, amazing!
I can think of no other ride that has generated more smiles...

Geeze...I think the first one may have been in 2000 when we met in the garage/shop space that Quilty was renting Uptown.

THAT was an amazing time, and I've been on every one since Smile

One week people!

We have adopted a few families as usual, and will be stopping by the shelter as well. Our elfs are busy wrapping gifts and getting ready for delivery!

A route will be put together soon so stay tuned.

We will be doing our famous Keegan Ales stop with plenty of food and lite fare available...probably arriving there between 7:30 and 8ish.

Keep and eye on this thread and we'll see you soon!

I have some of these if anybody wants! I over-bought a couple years ago. White (black wires), green, red, and purple, i believe.

Saturday looks good for weather, cooler, so dress warm!

There are some great lights up in town. Everything is in place for our stops, drinking merryment, and food, so as of now, the ride is a go!

A Christmas light recon mission will be happening before the end of the week, and I'll post a rough route before the weekend.

See ya bums at the ride!

Hey All, I can't make the ride this weekend (Office Christmas party in Stamford same night, and it'll be the first night the wife and I have had alone together since my son was born more than 2 years ago!). Can I donate some gifts for the kids at the shelter? Would I be able to give them to someone to bring up that's attending that lives near Poughkeepsie?

What a fun ride.

I was impressed by all the effort folks put into their santa costumes and bike decorations.

Alas the pictures my Mrs Claus took came out pretty blurry so I won't post any here.

Did anybody get any good shots inside "the flow"? I mean photographic shots, not the kind the elves were throwing back Smile I was thinking a crowd shot of santas drinking in a bar would make an amusing xmas card.

I hope everybody has as much fun as I did,

OBL
