Craig,
That is a fine pussy in your avatar. We have to set up a meet time for L.I. I should be into the shop one of these weekends.

Sup folks...

Just thought I'd stop to introduce myself... My name is Luc and I am probably the newest French Canadian in town. (Not that it really means anything unless hockey is the topic.)

Been biking pretty much on my own for this past year, but now I am looking to find other trails than the gunks. I'm kind hoping you guys would know a few *grin*

See you guys out there.

-Luc

Welcome to the forum Luc........Once this snow is gone you'll find plenty of riding in this area and this forum is a great place to find out where everyone is riding. It seems like there is a weekly ride everyday of the week.

Oh Yeah......... Go Rangers Smile

Well I have been floating around here for a few months now but never properly introduced my self. Here I go.

My name is Aaron, I grew up in Wappingers Falls, that is where I started my Mt.Biking. I mostly rode the powerline trails off of RT. 376. I used the same Gt Al Terra from the age of 13 to 22, that bike held up to everything. When I moved to Highland I stopped biking & just worked. I never had enough $$$ to get back into biking, up until 3 yrs ago when I started working for the State & making decent $$$. Last season I picked up an IronHorse Warrior & I just finished rebuilding it from the frame up, while I was on Praternity leave from work. While my family has been growing my biking has slowed down but I plan on getting out as much as possible this season & putting my build to the test.
Most of the trails I ride are Vassar & Stewart while I do try the HP trails & 909 when I think about them. I am located in Poughkeepsie, I am very close to most trails like HP & Vassar (maybe 2 miles from both).
It was nice to see that there is a group of bikers in the Hudson Valley, I love riding alone but having others there is a lot more fun, so I hope to join in on some of the rides this season.

fun trails in there, as long as you know where they are. I use to know those woods like the back of my hand.

Hi,

I have been riding for about 2 years now. I ride in the Albany and Berkshire area, but I discovered this group is closer to where I live, so I would like to join up!

I have been sick or away all winter and so I am completely out of shape!!! However, looking forward to a great season. I have been to the 909 trails and to some H2H races and I believe I ran into some of you guys.

Cheers!
Samantha

It's good to see some more women around here. Welcome! I've been riding for about 2 years as well and have been to the H2H races. Did you race or just watch? My first race was the Gallup at Stewart (got my ass thoroughly whopped by a group of strong women!)

Hey Beth,

I was at the Gallup last year. I had some nice crashes and got a concussion and a big cut on my arm Smile I still did ok. I am completely out of shape right now, but I might go to the Root 66 race on Saturday, but I might have to pick someone up at the airport.

Nice to see some women here, as well!

I think I took advantage of your crash and passed right by! Then I went really fast, hit some sand, and well... I think that's where I got my concussion because I kept falling the entire race. I don't remember anything else about that day. I didn't realize anything was wrong with me until I was driving home and my head started to ache.

Right, someone must not have heard me say I was passing and ran into me. My handlebar brushed a tree and I went down knee first onto a pile of rocks.

I'm not sure I have a future in racing Rolling Eyes Very Happy

I guess I'm going to have to stand around at the end of races and do neurological screens on people who smack their heads. Bluebug, haven't I done that to you?

Bluebug--did you screw up your knee?

I think the neurological screen should be done before and after some races!!!

Not too badly, just a nice bruise! I've ridden past there many times since and made peace with it.

You said you ride at the 909. Do you live near there?
