my new friend

I was biking by myself while waiting for a friend to show up in an area outside of Albany. I stopped at the beginning of my second trail because something was wrong with my pedal, and I discovered I was a missing bolt in my shoe. At that moment, I heard something in the woods. Then I saw something hopping in the underbrush and then a grouse appeared! It hopped right over to me! Astonished, I quickly remembered that I did not have my camera with me. Then, I grabbed my phone and took photos until I ran out of memory and my friend called me. Basically, the grouse was hopping all over my bike and eventually to me, sitting on a log pile in the trail. It was really cool. It was over a period of about 20 minutes. The grouse was just hopping here and there, chirping, and stopping to eat leaves. It seemed really curious, not upset or angry.
