Whoa Rudolph, it's that time of year again! This event is a Fats in the Cats favorite.

COME OUT AND ENJOY A HOLIDAY BIKE RIDE WITH YOUR BIKE CLUB!!

Date: Saturday, December 11th (Rain Date: Saturday, December 18th)

Time: 5:00 P.M. meet, convoy rolls at 5:30 SHARP End at: ??

Place: MAC Fitness parking lot in the Kingston Plaza.

Costume and Decorations: Santa suits are encouraged, decorated bikes with lots of lights are highly encouraged. Elfs, Reindeer, and Mrs. Clauses are other alternatives to check as well. LED powered AA lights can be found at CVS/Target/Walgreens, ect. Cheap Santa costumes can be found on the internet for a reasonable price that will make any grinch smile.

Ride Details: This ride is slow paced, with lots of "ho ho ho's" and holiday cheer spread. NO gut busting hills.

Route: Coming soon, more riding this year, right Santa Kevin?

Social stops for refreshments will be made along the way, as well as a stop at the shelter to drop off gifts for kids. Maybe a stop for some warm food at your favorite brewery.

A Note on Weather and how to dress: This will be moved to the "rain date" if canceled. Rain meaning rain, or wintry weather that makes travel to this event hazardous. All updates will be posted on the Fats' website, forums, facebook & twitter. Be prepared if it's chilly outside! Layer smartly. Bring hand/toe warmers, a Saint Bernard with a neck cask, anything really....

MISC

-Exchange phone numbers with someone, so if you get separated, you have a good chance of meeting back up with us.

-Bring spending money.

-Bring a lock.

-Bring a repair kit in case any of your light strands don't behave. Usually, electrical tape and a few zip ties are more than enough.

Early recon reports show that the decorating frenzy has begun! I would assume that during this upcoming weekend, a lot of decorating will occur.

Getting pumped up for this!

Question: How cool is it to roll down the street on bikes with 30 santas!? Answer: Very. All the cool cats are doing it.

Lights are available at Target. Cheap Santa suits can be had for cheap, or design your own holiday inspired costume.

I call Hank, he is the only diver I know. What do with him once he is lined up?

Walgreens in Kingston Plaza has some $15.95 Santa suits for those who want to get into the spirit. The more Santas, the better!

Good catch on the suits!

A little tip for everyone, LED lights are significantly enhanced with generous use of silver garland.

Reindeer bike is being tuned and trimmed this weekend....

Recon is going down tonight. Nothing but the best lights for this ride, guaranteed (mostly).

Target has a great selection of LEDs mixed in with the regular lights. Check 'em.

Wish I could make it! One of these years when I'm not working in the alcohol industry anymore...

However, 2 things:

1. I have a bunch of battery LED lights I picked up a few years ago in January for cheap if anybody needs them.

2. I still have a dozen or so blinky lights. I want to donate at least half of them to the Queens Galley, where I am told the bicycle is the preferred mode of transportation to get to free hot meals. I want to donate them with batteries in & tested, ready to go. I had enough batteries to fill a few of them, but I'm wondering if anybody else (or the club) can donate some. They each take 2 AA's, which, powering LED lights, should last a very very long time. But also, if somebody wants to take a handful of them to another location where we know they will get used and be appreciated, they are welcome to.

Thanks!

It's almost Friday, which means it's almost Saturday!!!!!!!!!

The weather is shaping up to be chilly, so please come prepared. Wear boots and layers to keep you nice and toasty. Those little heater packets you find at ski shops or outdoor stores are a great addition to your evening attire.

Bring cash money! We will be stopping for drinks along the way. Keegans is the official "end" of the ride, but after some socializing and merriment we will continue on into the night. Also, bring a lock, because it really sucks if your bike gets stolen if left unattended.

On that note, Keegan Ales, our flagship sponsor, is providing us with light fare at about 7:30. If you see Tommy or any of the Keegans staff, PLEASE thank them for supporting our efforts! And please, remember to not be a Scrooge...TIP YOUR BARTENDER!!! Smile

The route is roughly the same as last year if you happen to remember it. There seem to be more lights in concentrated areas then in past years, so this is good!

It may be helpful if you exchange phone numbers with your buddy incase you get separated or wander off into the darkness. It does happen, and no one will leave you behind on purpose. Usually Wink

See yous Fats Cats Saturday!

We're getting the finishing touches made to Santa's sleigh. Should be ready to roll Saturday.

Just in case you don't have a Santa horn we have one left for $9 that includes the fats discount. I could sell the one off my bike if another Santa horn is wanted that would suck but o-well.

See you Cats later.......SL
