Different lubes handle mud better than others..........So it could be just the mud thing. Also, don't know how old your drivetrain is, but the teeth on the chain rings do turn into the shape of shark teeth thru wear, which can cause chain suck as well.

I have yet to try it, but a few people I know swear by using automatic transmission fluid for their lube.........They say its great in all riding conditions

I have an 05 DAWG Primo. Is the chain getting sucked up and jammed between the ring and the chainstay? if so, I had the same problem with mine from day one. Kona was no help at all. I had to figure out how to stop in on my own. It's not dirt or worn drive parts. If it's happening when you bounce through rough sections and then pedal, I think I can help you with a simple dumb solution. Let me know if this sounds like the same problem.

No it's not that . It's when it gets really muddy, and then put strain
on it, like going up any incline. It wraps around the front sprocket.

I had a brand new Explosif that would drop off the middle ring under any moderate pressure.
I took it back to Overlook, Kona sent them replacement cranks, problem solved. The original stock cranks were junk.

There is nothing worst then chainsuck!
