Hi. I'm Mary Ann. I used to mountain bike a bit in CA years ago. I'm out of practice and out of shape now, but ready to gear up again. I need some EASY rides to start out with. Just got a new bike but it's kinda boring just riding by myself.

Hey Mary Ann - welcome! Think about coming out for group ride sometime. We meet at Jockey Hill on Tuesday nights. Have you ridden up at Minnewaska state park? It's a great place for big views and chill trails. Hope to see you on a bike soon.

Hi Mary Ann - Good to see new ladies posting!

Oh, to be clear, I am a lady, not a creepy guy.

I've been doing some slower paced rides at Vassar with a friend who is new to mountain biking. I'll send you a pm next time we go.

Great, lady and not creepy guy, yeah, let me know if you're going to do a ride and I'd love to join if I can. Do you ride around the Vassar campus?

Hey creepy, why do you have some dead thing as an avatar? Laughing

I was just at Vassar. Next time your at there, pretty please sign in at the kiosk to let them know there are good bikers out there.

Sempurr- Welcome to the club! Vassar farms is a good place to get back into biking.

My fiance is also on the path to biking again, and if Rangerdanger lets me know maybe sometime in the future she can join you.
(right now, we're busy with wedding plans)

Hey, I'm also a female and not a creepy dude and ride at Vassar a lot. Due to an insanely busy summer, I've been riding mainly during the week, so if you're interested in checking out the trails at an easy pace maybe we can set up a group ride one evening.

Group ride at Vassar farms sounds great. I'm free Mon the 28th and Thurs the 31st. And Fri-Sat-Sun 8/1,2,3 (but you said weekdays). Can anyone make those dates?

Oh, Ranger Danger was just letting me know that she's a creepy lady, not a creepy guy.

Do you guys ever ride in the dark (on purpose)? Would be fun on Halloween.

I've always wanted to go camping and watch Blair Witch in a tent on my portable DVD player. Now that would be creepy.

Ferncliff has some nice lean-tos sometimes with firewood supplied if anyone ever wants to camp there. There's no reason to camp except for the fun of it. It's not like you have to in order to see the whole trail. It's pretty short.

I'm a newbie, so I've been working my way up to getting around Ferncliff, it being 10 minutes from my home. My main hold-back factor is being out-of-shape.

Thanks for the welcome! How tough is Jockey Hill? I'd love to come as soon as I get my legs up for it.

Jokey Hill is a fun place to build up your legs. I too am still working on the legs and plan to do a Wedenesday night Jockey hill ride around 5:30 for the remainder of the summer. Weather dependent, slow pace for the Clydesdale class for a couple of hours. Open to all but if you ride fast I will start to cry at my lack of speed.

Yes we do, and it's very fun with a spooky factor sometimes.
