This little gem of a park is suffering from lack of trail maintenance and subsequent little use. I discovered and uncovered the entrances to two marked trails I didnt know existed. The horse trails are overgrowing and reverting back to forest. The amount of deadfall is frustrating for recreational riders, difficult for senior hikers and probably impossible for equestrians. If we can clear the deadfalls and cut back the overgrowth , the general public is much more likely to use them, [there is little that is technical otherwise and they are multiuser trails]. Does the club have a state employed liason who can grant permission?
P.S...I found some Rattlesnake Plantain (goodyera repens)

When I lived in Rhinecliff, I rode Mills/Norrie all the time...but only rode there once last year and not at all this year. It is a great place for beginners because there are lots of short trails to connect together...and a few good technical sections on the river trail.

Where were the trails that you discovered/uncovered?

Ive thought a bunch about how to get more trail maintenance (tm Wink ) done. A small group ride there could be very effective.

It is a gem of a place.
That hill across the river is another little gem, Shaupaneak Ridge, managed by Scenic Hudson and has trails open to bikes:

There's no hunting.

{If you click on any pics slowly 2x they'll be large}
