The Five Boro Bike Tour is coming up again. A few of us have done this for a number of years now. We always have a great time. For people that havent heard of it before, it's America's largest cycling event, attracts 30,000 cyclists to New York City each spring for an unforgettable 42-mile ride through traffic-free streets. From Manhattan's skyscraper canyons to the majestic Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, there's no better way to see New York!

A few friends and I have done that ride for the past five years.
It is an adventure. I think I'm done with it now though. But everyone should do it at least once. Riding through Central Park is awesome. _________________ Shut up and ride.! |

I've been going down with the whole Round Top gang for the last few years. We usually meet up and caravan down together. Its early enough in the city where we find parking spots right on the street. It's a great casual ride. Great way to see the city........Maybe even a few beverages along the way _________________ greg

If you decide to do it, there is a deadline of when you need to register by. Check out the web page.........Also, if i recall, if you register early, its a bit cheaper. _________________ greg

We've taken the train down, it added that much more fun. It's crazy
you catch the very first train, and it's packed with bikes....an awesome
sight. I used to live right by the New Hamburg station, so it was great.
No vehicles involved at all. And you can pound a few on the ride..
And the ride after the "ride" is over, you bet dropped off at Battery Park. Then to find your way back to Grand Central is a blast too. We ended up riding through a movie set two years ago. But that day you can use the trains for no extra fee.....or you can get a permit for 5.00...and I thinkit's good for ever. _________________ Shut up and ride.! |

I agree Kevin. Smiley and I have talked about it for a few years and I think it's time for action.
If you're into it I can probably add another tray on my roof rack and you can ride with us. I'll probably try to caravan with g60dude, if he doesn't drop me on the thruway!! _________________ C'mon!! |

Lots of fun!
Here is one group of us. There were 3 groups of us (Two Fats groups and a posse from Round Top). By some miracle, we all somehow managed to stumble across each other multiple times during the ride.
