Hello Fatties, anyone have any experience with a Trek 69'er SS? I have an opportunity to buy one at an extremely good price...but I have no idea how the wheel setup for 26" in the rear and 29" in the front is going to be.

I remember a guy from CT used to like his @ the 909. It got good reviews in Dirt Rag. If it has a Maverick fork, check to see if that is still serviceable. Test ride, it could be fun.

Thanks Tim. Rigid aluminum fork that I'd probably eventually replace with a carbon fork. I won't get to test drive as the bike is on Long Island, and I can't get there until next weekend. But it's in great shape and would make for an interesting XC SS race bike.

Trek made a 69er a few years ago. I mistakenly thought thats what you were interested in. I wouldnt buy it w/o a test ride.

This is the 2009 model, and from what I can tell, nothing is original. Same concept, just not the same parts. Good idea to test ride though. I'm not too concerned about the shock. To be honest I like the SS fully rigid.

I'd pass-I am betting 69er did not catch on for a reason. Plenty of reg 29er SS for sale often... Trek rigs are usually no more than 500.

I am a fan a spending a little more for a lot more bike-800-1000 Bucks can get you carbon in the SS world.
