Tim thanks so much for going out and cutting back the brush! I haven't had much time to do anything as of late due to traveling for work...but because of the rain, I'll try and get out with my hedge trimmer and get some done. Timbuktu was pretty well clear throughout as of this morning. Whatchamacallit probably needs it...any other places? I'll bring my gas powered one, so no need to worry about killing the new electric powered one.

Leafy spots (there may be others):

Top of Cop 150' (where it meets the road)
Snowmobile Hill East 75' (on the way to Fisher)
Outer Gut 75' (along shoreline)
Bottom of Whatchamacallit 100'

Other spots are smaller and can be done with hand tools by anyone who wants to help

Outer Gut & Timbuktu met the hedge trimmer.
Skeeters are fierce, shad flies too.

Bees on Border & Timbuktu!!
On Border the yellowjacket nest is small pineapple size @ shoulder height. Its located at the top of the first of the 3 switchbacks ON the right side of the trail clockwise ( or "down").

I dont know where the one on TB2 is, heard about it.

Time to bee careful.

Also, this tiny orchid will be out for a month or so:

packing up bikes and stuff in the parking lot, post Sunday evening ride, and we hear a large crash. Tree down on Snowmobile, on the section between the parking lot cutoff and the fireroad. might be clearable with hand tools- most of the trunk is off trail.

Arrived yesterday and temp was 10* cooler. A storm had just come through so expect a lot of debris down. Stuff to clear off the trails....

Bees gone from border, but there's a nest near the stream crossing on Outer Gut.

Cleaned up debris on Outer Gut, part of Getaway, and Pirate Creek.

The top of a smallish tree is down on Pirate Creek--I cleaned up what I could, but I idiotically forgot to pack my saw. Easy job with folding saw. Heading south, it is somewhat after the big switchback down to the creek.

Parking lot was full yesterday, but I didnt see a single rider on my 10 miles... I rode all of the Gut except Getaway. All clear & bugs minimal.

Tree down on bykhead downhill. I tried to 'push' it down but it's hung up on some smaller trees.

I have on good authority that a trail cam has appeared on the private property just after the first gate when taking the easy way out of the gut.

This is in addition to the piles of down trees added to the gate.

I would say stay clear...I am guessing the cam is in response to whatever damage that was done to the private residence down that way.

What damage was done? I guess we'll just have to get fitter and take the uphill route Smile

The route with the ledge? Thats the detour.

If you see a middle aged guy with gray big curly hair and a 70# Ridgeback mutt be wary of that dog. They walk in Pond Gut. %#%$ will tell you "he just barks." Baloney. And &^%$ cant keep him on a leash. Dogs name is Charlie.

Laugh now. When Charlie's chewing on your a$$ you might wish you had an AK. The 'Arlo Guthrie' guy will be mumbling something stupid the whole time.
