Hi,

took a few to clear the middle, open ground section of Whatchamacallit, cleared it of the worst of the overhanging prickers and growth so at least you can ride without getting shredded.

If could still use a heavyweight weed wacker to really cut it back but it'll hold for a few weeks on mine. The open section of Cop should be next place cut back.

Jim

Thanks Jim! I haven't had the time to get over there as of late. I'll check out Cop though and take a turn back through Whatchamacallit with the weed whacker/hedge trimmer. Should have some time this weekend to get it done.

The bear wasn't on a bike or wearing a helmet. You might have seen the same bear on outer gut, or maybe there is a family of bears! I might ride with some jingle bells zip-tied to my handlebars from now on, to let any wildlife know that I'm coming. Someone on here suggested jingle bells during hunting season to let hunters know that we are not deer. I know bears don't typically eat humans, but I don't want to startle one, especially if it's a Mama bear with her cubs.
(After I saw the bear, I thought every squirrel hopping on a leaf was a bear.)

Spent time clearing the overgrown section on Cop - it's now rideable again!

Enjoy! Very Happy

Mother nature has provided a nice trail head blockage for the upper entrance to Timbuk2. Access is fine, already has a trail work around worn in, but it should help discourage some of the more adventurous 4 wheelers.

The fridge some &$#@@% dropped off was delivered to its rightful place at the dump by Mr Gordon.
Trails are mostly awesome with bits of perfect.

Couple big tress down at 909 - did a quick loop this AM and trails better than I thought until i came across the downed trees.

Both on Timbuk2 - one on the main trail and one on the extension - both about halfway thru each of those and both about a foot across, so my hand saw was not gonna work. Good bow saw or chainsaw action on each and they are in bad spots : not ride over converts (imho).

Anyone know how 909 is looking these days? Is it ridable?

909 is very rideable. Only an occasional patch of snow on the trails. Three of use rode last night. There is a lot of debris down so it was stop and go all night. We cleared Mercury, Mustang, Timbuk2, and Beaver.

Thanks for the info Jim! Rode there before sunrise this morning. Bykhed was clear as well. Frozen leaves however, do not make for good traction, especially on a single speed bike.

Rode there with a small group last night after work.

Around 1" of snow or less, a little mud, some frozen roots, all good!

Two of the five rode Fatbikes, nobody had a problem with the conditions.

Tree down on Timbuktu needs a chainsaw or lots of effort manually,
also a couple 3 down on Getaway .
I'd be up for some trail work if someone schedules it a week out approx.
A saturday or sunday is best .
