If you volunteered this weekend, thank you! You were part of a highly productive work crew. Much more was accomplished than I ever thought possible.

Yes, thank you thank you thank you!

I GPSed the trail last night and we have just over a mile of new trail complete! Not bad for a weekend of work!

Good morning all!

Thank you for your hard work June 28/29 at Jockey Hill. Much more was accomplished than ever expected! Last tuesday nights group ride got a sneak peak, and the reviews were all positive!

"This trail is sick"
"I love the quarrys"
"Holy shiit!"
"It really reminds me of riding in Ruby"
"That saddle was deep in my taint on that climb"
"When is the next workday?"

With one more workday/weekend, we can have this trail finished by the end of July! Won't you please help again? With about 13-15 people, we can split up into two crews and finish this off on July 12.

When: July 12 and 13, 9:00AM to 2:00PM at the latest
Where: Town of Kingston Town Hall
Tools: Same as before. Bring yer own or use FATS. More loppers the better.
Waiver: If you already filled it out, you're good again.
Tasks: More bench cutting and some rock work, and lots of raking/pruning.

If your buddy aint on dis forum, please pass the info on!

I already know some of you can not make it so we're good, but to all others, please RSVP if you can. It will make planning easier. Spread the word....

Thanks,
Kevin

Come out this weekend and help complete the new trail at Jockey Hill. Here's a look at some of the great work that's been done.

Almost the weekend...yipppppie!

The first task on hand Saturday will be to armor some sections of the existing trail we made during the last workday. The recent rains have revealed some mushy spots. Luckily, there is no shortage of stone to lay down.

Then, we will forge on and continue the build!

The weather looks good enough, hope to see some new faces and of course the same old ones as well.

I got word from the DEC today that the trail has started to be marked with BLUE trail markers.

Everything seems to be holding up pretty well so far, and I imagine it will only get better as it gets more use and the footprint becomes more defined. It probably has the least amount of rocks of any trail at Jockey, which is in itself pretty amazing.

I hope everyone is enjoying the fruits of their hard volunteer labor. You guys rock.

Thanks,
Kevin

Just rode new blue trail this morning. Only bottom third or so had blue discs. Was the trail ever completely marked?
