What's the small quail like bird, with the long skinny beak?

Probably a Woodcock. They migrate through this area in the Spring.

Several walk arounds on Beaver.
A couple of walk arounds on Bykhed.
A couple of walk arounds on Mercury.
Timbuk has a couple of soft spots but overall pretty firm.

In between the walk arounds its surprisingly firm. Pleasant surprise.

Generally the roads & snowmobile trails are more muddy than singletrack hill trails like Byk hed... Those trails have very little mud.

Just did a great ride over at 909 Smile If you are planning to ride through any streams right now, bring a life vest. I understand that some people are opposed to raking trails, but I think that a tiny bit of raking might be a good thing in the gut and Fisher. I would be happy to do said light raking if given permission!

Pruning is alot more constructive than bending the rules against raking.

Unless you like ticks.

Two large trees down on Timbuk. One on the fast downhill entrance, the other half way into the trail. Both would need a hand saw to remove.

Someone mentioned that they thought that the tree in the top section of TB2 looked like it was deliberately cut down.

I RODE FONGS WAY btw. I had fun too.

I had a great ride a dusk this evening from Tyrell to Mercury, Tunnel and back to Tyrell on the dirt road. The stream crossings were fun as they were flowing strong today. I went home with a wet sock.

There is a good sized tree across the connector between mercury and mustang, just south of the stream crossing. Would anyone mind if I whittled one side of it down to make it easier for us fat guys to ride over it? I would leave most of it alone for those who enjoy the challenge of a bigger log. A section about a foot wide at the edge of it was what I had in mind.

Is this a new tree or the one that has been down since early last Spring?

If thats the old one, please leave it. Logs like that come down all the time and are a necessary skill builder.
