My understanding of the series is the courses are typically technical. _________________ Pedal, b*tches!! |

Anyone still going to this race? It is not that technical, mostly double track. Good first race.
I am thinking about going, but I'm quite out of shape so I'll probably race beginner, which is 9am. That's kind of early for me, so I would have to think about it. |

I am going to the sport class race- which starts really late 2:00. It should be a cold mud fest with this weather. I have to mapquest it, like to get there at 12ish. _________________ I like big bikes and I can not lie. |

OUCH did that hurt! It felt like it was 20 deg. and blowing freezing cold air(I think it was in the 30's). Despite crappy position in the back at the start, I was able to fight my way to 10th by the end (got some points at least) Anyone know about leg cramping- I couldn't stand for half the race! Really great turnout with a huge 32 in the sport class 30-39 group! Must ride some trails before the next one- Lenox anyone? _________________ I like big bikes and I can not lie. |

For me, it seems I have leg cramping issues towards the beginning of each season. Everybody's body is different, but what seems to help me is eat two bananas before the ride and and eat a Gu every half hour or so. Then once I get into my routine of riding a few times a week, the cramping seems to disappear _________________ greg

I DNF'd
It was my first week after 4 months of no cardio, 3rd bike ride of the week and the season, so I felt like well, at least I did 2 laps. I had more in me, but not mentally. I was a little upset that I had warmed up for a 2:30 start--and I had been warming up since like 1:30--and then the ladies' did not get to start until like 3:30 because they decided not to let us go until after the last few Experts were completely off the course, which made LITTLE to NO sense to me.
*sigh*
My sensei used to say, "Showing up is the most important thing..."
Oh, it looks like 3/6 girls in my category DNF'd, as well, so I didn't feel so bad I told my race buddy [who was not there] how I DNF'd and he said that he would have shoved GU down my throat and whipped me to do the last lap if he were there! |

Yeah I only sucked down like 8 of them (gu) Saturday! I too was warmed up for the start (suppose to be at 2:00) didn't start until 3:00. It won't have been too bad but for the cold! _________________ I like big bikes and I can not lie. |
