3-4 hours. Moderate pace...super tech trails, big climbs and big downhills. Lets not forget the amazing views!

Tommy Boy..I would have totally joined you for this ride, but a bunch of us are heading up to the Adirondacks for a week of relaxing....and beer. Enjoy, and lets reschedule another ride there soon.

I rode up the singletrack off the blue trail last weekend, man it was in bad shape after the latest summer storms.

I plan on starting to clean it up this week some time. It is getting very neglected.....trail maintenance is way too much work. Twisted Evil

Some organized shop trailwork days would clean it up faster...

Tom - Not sure if your rides at Mt Beacon are all downhill? Picked up a used AM bike, and would like to try something more to the tame side to give it a try. I've never been to Mt Beacon, but have heard it's a lot of DH type stuff. The XC stuff is no prob...but it's the DH stuff with big jumps or drop offs that I need to get used to. Thanks!

There are tons of AM type trails up there. No big drops or jumps...the DH runs are pure steep rock. Generally every ride starts with a 1400' climb then we get some super techy trails...some singletrack and some double...all techy. Then you get to go down some great trails...there are some steep sections but you can walk them. Most of us ride 5-6" travel bikes up there.

I'll be riding next week at some point.

Thanks Tom! Exactly what I'm looking for. Steep doesn't bother me too much...and techy stuff is what I enjoy. Thankfully my bike climbs like a mountain goat, although the engine might be sucking wind by the time I get to the top. My bike has 6" of travel, so no problem. Do you recommend full face helmet? I only have usual cycling one. Would love to go during the week, but I work in Connecticut, so it's tough during the week for me to ride. Are you available on a weekend? I'm usually up by 7 on weekends, so morning rides work for me if they work for you. Thanks for taking the time to organize a ride!
