It's been around seven years since I moved to this area, and finally I rode at Shaupeneak Ridge.
A group of us rode there today, one who had been there before, but only hiking.

We started at the lower lot and rode the trail up. I'm glad we did, it may have seemed like a smaller place without that beating that we took while climbing up.

After riding down the rocky chute we turned around to give it a shot in the other direction.

We rode through amazing fern gulleys.

It almost felt as if we were being watched by someone...or something.

It was great to see the place and we'll be back to ride there again.
Don't wait as long as I did to give this place a try.

Another best ride ever....

Good to see some new riders are using Shaupeneak. It has a lot to offer. It's not huge but has enough for a 2 hour ride. And new trail about 1.5 miles long should be done this year will make it all the better. There is no lack of techy features and rocks.
