Trail Build Day!!!

**Winter recon has resulted in a new trail layout at Illinois that is sure to please. But before we can ride it, we gotta build it!!**

-Meet at Berean Park in Highland, NY this Saturday April 14th at 9am.

-We work until 1 pm then eat!

-Bring gloves, H2O, and eagerness to work.

See everyone there!

*note: helmets are not required for this portion of the trail build*

The trail we built with IMBA had a deadfall blocking it the last time I rode there. Can we cut that out too or is it gone? I can bring a chain saw or a two man saw.

Last I recall, that deadfall has been buzzed and the entire White Trail has been marked. I will double check with the ranger...since this is Scenic Hudson Property, they have the chainsaw power.

I scored not one but TWO sweet 2 man saws this weekend. Garage sale finds for $20. They are available for log eradication if needed.

And to all you fence sitters and lurkers out there, get involved ya bums! If you want new trails to ride nearby, you have to come out and help. And you will have a good time.

I plan to be there on saturday. ANy problem if I bring my dog?

I live 3 blocks from Bearen park and have been riding white 3 times a week for the last 3 weeks. It has no blockages. Some of the bench cut on the lower half is getting a little sloppy (erosion?), but I say on to the Blue trail!

The trail-to-be is completely dialed in & "just" needs about 100 hours of clearing deadfall, pruning, & digging.

I have yet to see a tick or many gnats, so now is a great time to work

Turnout was large enough for 3 large pies, so we split into 2 groups & got the trail about 45% ready. More trail work days are planned -hope to see you then- we'll have a rideable trail soon.

The bench cut crew took this hill:

An outstanding day of work indeed! Almost halfway on the Blue Trail horseshoe...aim to finish it up next month.

Great group of people came together to help make trail plans a trail reality!

It was great to meet some of you guys. Our after work ride was cut short when Bob bent his hanger, it was a good thing because we were pretty beat and it gave us an excuse to quit early.
