It's that time of year already when we need to start planning out our main 2010 Fund Raiser for the club. For the past handful of years we have done a club jersey with our logo and sponsorships. There has been some low level talk that maybe we've played the jersey idea far enough and maybe it's time for something different.

So.....the idea was presented to do a lightweight jacket instead of a jersey this year. We wouldn't have to rush this order through since the jacket would be more for fall use, and that would give us more time to get the word out to more members etc.

We are looking at the Mid-Weight Classic Jacket and you can go to vergesport.com to check it out.

The early calculations look like the price to members would come in around $75 although that could definitely change.

Interested?

I do think the FitC's jerseys could use a season to rest and I like the jacket idea.

I have never found use for back pockets and even less so while cold weather riding -I believe most riders are using packs for fall/winter & early spring.

Something like the bmx jersey over a thermal top would suit my needs alot better:

How about a winter hat -this one can double as a neck warmer:

I am all for the jacket as long as it comes in sizes that contemplate beer drinking physiques. I don't want to reinact Chris Farley's 'Fat Guy in a Little Coat' routine.

I would definitely go for a fats jacket. If there are small enough sizes, i'ld get a couple for my nephews too. Those jerseys last forever, I have a drawer full of 'em.
I do like back pockets, I generally try to avoid backpacks. For a light weight jacket though, one idea might be to minimize bulk so that you can stick it in your jersey pocket. For a medium or heavy jacket, the more pockets the better.

Just wondering if we were doing a FinC piece of paraphernalia? Jacket, jersey, toque, or otherwise.

Recently it was decided that we would postpone doing any Fats clothing orders until next spring. At that time we'll revisit the jacket idea and any other ideas that are floated.
