I ran into the owner of this fine cycle on the Walkway Over the Hudson. His name is Fred Schaeffer and he is the Chairman of the Walkway. I told him I loved his bike and he told me it was a gift to him from the folks involved in the walkway for his completion of the project.

Very nice.

Shocked

Actually the Dutch government gave Walkway 4 of these bikes for the quad celebration. Fred's bike was inscribed with his name on it. A nice feature is the Dutch bicycle culture often requires that bike riders use their bikes during their commutes to and from work during the hours of darkness so with that in mind a solar recharge light system has been incorporated in the top tube. A small recessed switch is pressed with a key or pen to activate the light. While its not a HID or other high power system it does give enough light to get you where you're going.
