Who's in? From what I hear it's a really nice course and venue.

That. Was. Awsome. Billy did a great job with everything. It was one of the best organised races of the year, in a plush venue, witha Baaaadass course. And I didn't cramp Laughing I did get a flat at the very beginning of the third lap that wasn't sealing up very well with the Co2, so I did the last lap with about 10 PSI in my rear tire Rolling Eyes . I spent the whole lap just trying not to flat, because I really didn't want to run a few miles in the woods with those shoes. My race was stacked, so I knew from the beginning that I was racing for "best of the rest". I burried myself from the start to keep up with the top 5 monsters for half a lap, and then let them go for phase two, which is getting my lungs back in my body and recovering without getting caught. after that I just settle into my own groove and maintained position. I got passed by one guy in my class when I got the flat, but I caught him againg in a few minutes. I was 6th of 11 in cat1 30-39.

And the best part, a training buddy and I tied for the hillclimb prize, being the only two racers their to get up hurl hill 3 times on our bikes. We split the $100 prize, joking about doing a hill climb shootout that we both knew was a bad idea.

Great race! Beautiful weather and the course was in perfect shape...super fast with minimal mud...my endo looked something like this (minus the water):

p.s. It helps to bring your helmet to the race. Big thanks to Charlie for letting me borrow his extra and Billy for helping me track one down!

I enjoyed lap 2 and then sitting on the grass in the sun much better than lap 1. And lap 2 gave me an endo, swollen finger, and bruised ankle... Chasing the leaders in lap 1 just sucks... better and more enjoyable to ride my own race! Maybe I should move up just so there is no chance of anything but DFL, and I can relax with no expectation! Rolling Eyes

Great venue for the family, and I think Little Missy enjoyed herself immensely.

pok: don't forget about the cash prizes, too! But, you do have to ride an additional lap.

Great race - Thanks Billy D!

It looked like an epic battle for Cat 1 SS... on lap# 1 three of us were wheel to wheel and all took a turn in the lead...then I had a mechanical, and another, and another...The 7th stop I finaly got the bike right Rolling Eyes so lap # 3 was more about going for a ride on a fun loop then actually racing!

Still a great day! I had so much fun heckling..err cheering on Cat 2 & 3's

Great day, couldn't have asked for better weather. Should have asked for better legs. Big thanks to Jamie for letting me draft off him on the road section. This retro bike thing is starting to hurt! Maybe I'll finally throw the old suspension fork back on.

I can't decide if I'm riding to much or not riding enough, but whatever is happening I think I'm past my peak for the season.

3 more races and then the darkness...
