I have a cycling-related knee/leg injury that's making it tough to train for my century. Anyone know of a good sports injury specialist in the area? I'm in mid-upper Dutchess, but am willing to travel.

Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County has several excellent sports medicine physicians and many of them are even cyclists. I would recommend Dr. Kusior, Dr. Stewart, or Dr. Maurer.

has several locations.....call and ask they may have some in Ulster...

I used the Northern Dutchess Hosp (Rhinebeck) location, Dr Maurer, just yesterday, some X-rays and a cortisone shot in the shoulder...
I waited about 3 weeks for the appt.
But what I think you may really need is a good physical therapist.
Seems regardless of what the Dr does, they will prescribe 4-6 weeks of 2X week physical therapy. I start mine next week. Will be the third time through PT for one body part or another, but if it avoids surgery it is worth it. You have to do the PT after surgery anyway.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I have an appointment with Dr. Stamer. Anyone have experience with him? Supposedly he's a cyclist.

My guy is Evan Rashkoff with New Milford Orthopaedic in Sharon, CT. He's done plenty of work on me over the last 10 years or so. 860-364-0134.
