I guess I should answer on the style side of things...
I ride everything but this past year I have really started to love Downhill Racing. I also love the Cross-Stuntry type of stuff. I used to race XC and I still ride XC but I don't really have a bike for it right now (my lightest bike is 34lbs). Hoping to get a hardtale next year for places like 909. Depends though...I have a feeling that my next bike will be a DH race bike (Sinister R9).

...riding a Hardtail Gary Fisher Tassajahara or cranking along on a Fetish Cycles Fixation Single Speed with a rigid fork.
I spend about equal time on both. The Fetish is still running V-brakes and boosters.
I'm very low-tech.

First of all, as long as I'm riding I'm happy. No matter what I'm on. But, my current regular mtn bike is a Kona King Kikapu and I really dig the smooth ride it gives me. Even after cracking the frame on my first one, I still like it a lot. My other woods bike is an Access (cheapo aluminum frame) single speed built up with my old parts. Love that quick acceleration.
I also spend a good amount of time on my roadie doing fast group rides in the greater Woodstock area.
Lastly I also have a long distance touring bike that I've used for at least four, four week self supported tours in Europe. My latest goal is riding coast to coast in the US of A. A couple years away as I save time and money.
Oh yeah, I don't have a cell phone either. Never had one. _________________ C'mon!! |

I am riding a rigid steel 29er. I tried going back to the full suspension, but missed the rigid too much. There is nothing in the world like riding that baby around and passing the flax to your buddies.

My old Kona Cindercone frame just got built into a SS. Lots of fun (pretty challenging up hills!) |

Singlespeed can be so much fun (and challenging). It makes the same old trail become become new again. Stick with it, your legs will come around quickly. |

I've been bringing it to Vassar to ride during lunchtime on the trails. I picked up a set up Mallets for it, so I don't always have to clip in (and can work on skills/stunts) |

Is yours brown?
I'm trying to remember if I've seen you on the trail. I tend to remember Konas. |
