I have noticed on some cold weather rides that the only thing that get uncomfortably cold...are my ears.

When it gets cold...what do you wear that will fit under your helmet and not warm you up too much?

Don seems to recomend Duct tape for most everything. Try that! Laughing Or, you could try a headband that fits under your helmet. I ride with a thin hat myself.

I do the slim looking ear muffs.....Where the connector of each "muff" actually goes just above the back of your neck.......I think I got mine at Dicks last year. Keeps the ears nice and toasty

Hind makes a thin headband with a shape specifically designed to cover your ears completely (unless you have Elf ears!). As thin as a skullcap, you'll barely know you have one on. Fits easily about anywhere when it gets too warm.

I also have a skullcap for those colder days (or nights!) when a little more help is req'd. Not bulky at all under helmet.

And of course, there's Duct Tape!

From 45* down to my limit of 5* I use a spandex balaclava. Its open only from my eyebrows down to my nose. Its made of spandex so I can stretch it below my mouth and thin enough to fit comfortably under my helmet with only slight adjustments. The new dial/ratcheting systems on helmets are a very fine evolution, just 1 or 2 clicks on my Giro and Bell.
